UF Vice President for Business Affairs Curtis Reynolds Departing for Baylor University

Nov. 29, 2023 — After 13 years at the University of Florida, vice president for business affairs Curtis Reynolds will step down to accept a new role as vice president for business and finance and chief financial officer at Baylor University. He will begin his new position on March 1.

“We are tremendously grateful for Curtis’ commitment and service to Gator Nation,” UF President Ben Sasse said. “Curtis brought his talents to UF during a time of unprecedented growth and, although it’s bittersweet, we’re excited about the opportunity he has at Baylor.”

Reynolds is responsible for leading and strategically directing a diversified portfolio of campus business and support services at UF.

The departments reporting to Reynolds are: Business Services; Environmental Health and Safety; Emergency Management; Campus Planning, Design and Construction; the Office of Sustainability; Facilities Services; Small Business and Supplier Diversity; the Stephen C. O’Connell Center; and the UF Police Department.

“I have cherished my time at the University of Florida and will continue to support Gator Nation from afar,” Reynolds said. “I look forward to seeing the remarkable things the university will continue to accomplish.”

Prior to his service at UF, Reynolds was vice provost for administration at Miami Dade College, where he was responsible for central business affairs on eight campuses with more than 165,000 students throughout Miami-Dade County. At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, he was the executive director for administration, responsible for administration and finance, human resources, energy management, and information technology.

Reynolds holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a master of business administration degree from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the U.S. Green Building Council.
