Vice President for Business Affairs


Brandi Renton serves as Vice President for Business Affairs at the University of Florida, where she brings a wealth of expertise in strategic collaboration, enterprise alignment, change management and innovation. In this role, she is committed to cultivating a culture of excellence, service and teamwork throughout the university’s business operations.

Prior to her appointment as vice president, Brandi served as Associate Vice President in Business Affairs, overseeing core operational areas including Transportation and Parking Services, Environmental Health & Safety, and other administrative services. She joined UF from the University of North Texas (UNT), where she held progressively senior roles, ultimately serving as Senior Associate Vice President for Administrative Services.

During her tenure at UNT, Brandi led several high-impact initiatives, including the creation of the university’s first process improvement and organizational development teams. She procured and deployed a learning management system for the entire university system, developed a “Radical Friendliness” initiative in partnership with Student Affairs to strengthen student engagement, and spearheaded a strategic collaboration with Toyota to streamline faculty hiring and construction processes. She also played a key leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on community engagement, cross-campus collaboration and operational efficiency.

Brandi’s professional foundation includes more than a decade of private-sector experience, including eight years in automotive manufacturing, where she held expanding roles from Environmental, Health and Safety lead to Human Resources. She implemented health and safety programs, collaborated with engineers to enhance manufacturing tools and processes, and worked closely with regulatory agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). She also spent several years in the healthcare sector, leading human resources initiatives and improving internal programs.

Brandi earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Health and Safety from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and an MBA from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. She is also a graduate of the NACUBO Fellows Program, a prestigious professional development initiative for higher education business leaders.

Actively engaged in the higher education community, Brandi has held numerous leadership roles with the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO), including serving on the Board of Directors and as a committee chair, vice chair and member. Her contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including for her work on a significant process improvement initiative in partnership with Toyota.

A passionate mentor, Brandi continues to give back by supporting students and emerging leaders. She mentors students at her alma mater, Oakland University, and has also done so at the University of North Texas and the University of Florida. She is equally committed to mentoring professional staff and future leaders in higher education.

Outside of work, Brandi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, attending live music events and cheering on her children at sporting events.
