Dwan Courtney

Small Business and Vendor Diversity Relations

Dwan Courtney is a University of Florida alumna currently working as the Marketing and Communications Specialist for the Small Business and Vendor Diversity Relations division. She says the most rewarding aspect of her position is speaking with small business owners and helping them identify ways to be successful with the university. Courtney adds: "Small business owners are the best!"

Andrew Thorkildson

Facility Services Grounds Department

Andrew came to Grounds as an OPS employee and was soon hired as a full-time Groundskeeper I in 2016. He works on a crew that maintains the landscape in the Northeast quadrant of campus. Andrew says that he is thrilled to part of the Grounds team and loves working outdoors. He is especially proud that he and the rest of the department make campus beautiful. Andrew was raised in Gainesville and is a big Gator fan. When not at work, he is a drummer for a heavy metal band. Many in his family have also worked for UF, including his mother. His wife works at the UF Counseling Center.

Kenneth Bain

University of Florida Police Department

Officer Kenneth Bain began his career at the University of Florida Police Department as a student in 2013, with the Student Nighttime Auxiliary Patrol, or SNAP (now operated through Transportation and Parking Services). He became a UFPD officer in 2015. His favorite part of the job when he has the opportunity to educate the public on legal issues they are unfamiliar with. In early 2018, Officer Bain received the Business Affairs Division Superior Accomplishment Award in Community Service for his exemplary job performance.
