The UF Mail & Document Services department and its Passport Acceptance Agents earned a perfect score for the second straight audit on the Acceptance Facility Review Report, issued by the Miami Passport Agency.
UF Mail & Document Services is a U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility and is certified by the U.S. Department of State. The Acceptance Facility Oversight Assessment review included one-on-one interviews, inspections of the facility space and its security features, and real-time observations of passport staff.
Passport Acceptance Agents undergo a rigorous training process in order to execute U.S. Passport applications. This includes background checks, online training and yearly recertification.
“I am extremely proud of the entire UF Passport Services team led by Gabby Dolbeck,” said Jim Briscoe, associate director of Business Services Division. “The perfect score exemplifies hard work, dedication and the achievement of our goal to provide excellent customer service to the Gator Nation.”
A department within the Business Services Division, Mail & Document Services processes over 4,500 passports from their office every year. Although the facility is located on Radio Road on the campus of UF, any U.S. citizen may obtain or renew their passport from this location, regardless of UF affiliation. Free, convenient parking is available and the office is also served by several RTS bus routes.
To schedule a 15-minute appointment between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., please call 352-392-1134. Staff members will discuss the identification documents required to issue the passport, take a passport photo, and will explain why a check or money order is needed to complete part of the payment process.
Currently, processing time for passports is 4-6 weeks from the time of the appointment. Expedited passports can be received in 2-3 weeks.
