Executive Assistant

Bio: I spent the majority of my life in the Central Florida region after relocating from Chicago as a young child. After many years rooted in the region, our family relocated to Gainesville following our daughter’s first year at UF, a transition that quickly made this community feel like home.

I began my career at the University of Florida with the Environmental Health & Safety Department, where I was fortunate to find a supportive team that truly felt like a work family. My time there allowed me to grow both personally and professionally while gaining a deep appreciation for UF’s collaborative culture and commitment to service.

Recently, I accepted a new role within the Office of Business Affairs, and I am excited for the opportunity to take on new challenges, broaden my skillset and continue contributing to the university’s mission. I look forward to building new relationships, supporting our leadership team and growing within an environment that values dedication, integrity and community.

What is an identity you’re proud to share?

“I am proud to be a wife of over 28 years and the mother of two adult children in their early twenties-roles that have grounded me, shaped my values and continue to be the greatest sources of joy, perspective and purpose in my life. Being part of a close-knit family has taught me patience, resilience and compassion, qualities that influence how I show up both personally and professionally. Watching my children grow into thoughtful, capable adults has been one of my life’s greatest privileges, and my marriage has been a steady foundation through every chapter. These relationships keep me centered, remind me of what truly matters and inspire me to bring that same sense of care and commitment to the work I do every day.”

What does your role entail?

In my new position as an Executive Assistant to Vice President of Business Affairs, Brandi Renton, I provide comprehensive administrative support that helps our leadership team stay focused on advancing the university’s mission. This includes managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings and events, preparing detailed correspondence and documentation, and serving as a trusted point of contact for faculty, staff, students and external partners. I help ensure smooth daily operations by anticipating needs, streamlining processes and maintaining clear and timely communication. Ultimately, my goal is to create an organized, efficient environment that enables our team to support the academic, research and service goals of the university.

What is your favorite part about working at UF?

“My favorite part about working at UF is the strong sense of community and support that feels like a true work family. I have had the privilege of working alongside colleagues who genuinely care about one another, collaborate openly and celebrate each other’s successes. That spirit of connection and shared purpose makes UF not just a workplace, but a place where I feel valued, supported and proud to contribute every day.”

Fun fact about you:

“I am a big movie lover, especially when it comes to horror and suspense. I enjoy a good plot twist, edge-of-your-seat storytelling, and the full experience of watching films on the big screen whenever I can.”
