Staff Spotlight: Christina Ramos

Administrative Specialist


Bio: Christina Ramos is an Administrative Specialist in the Office of Business Affairs, where she speicializes in the GatorConnect permitting system and event compliance. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management from UF in 2024. During her time at UF, Christina was highly involved with several programs, including Phi Sigman Pi National Honor Fraternity and the College of Health and Human Performance Student Ambassadors. She brings valuable experience from her time as an event intern with the City of Gainesville and as a catering intern/attendance with Palm & Pine Catering.

What is an identity you’re proud to share?

“I am a proud Asian American. My values stem from my Filipino roots and are a crucial part of my sense of self. I’m incredibly grateful to come from a background known for its resilience, positivity and hospitality.”

What does your role entail?

“In this role I help process permit requests in the GatorConnect system, assist event hosts with navigating campus policies and ensure compliance with University Policies and Regulations under the VPBA. I work closely with Tara Hollow, the Assistant Director of Operations for the VPBA, and various campus partners to review and minimize risk at campus events.”

What is your favorite part about working at UF?

“My favorite part about working at UF is the opportunity to continue my relationship with the University. Graduating from UF and then having the chance to return afterwards is truly incredible. I’m grateful to give back to the University that has given me so much.”

Fun fact about you:

“I’ve served as a Zone Leader for the Gainesville Annual Downtown Festival and Art Show three times, and I began volunteering with the city just three months after moving here.”
