The University of Florida names new Senior Director for Transportation and Parking Services.

The University of Florida has named Louann Huynh as the new Senior Director of Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS). She will join the university on March 27.

Huynh brings more than a decade of experience in parking and mobility management in higher education, most recently serving as Director of Parking and Transportation at the University of Central Florida. In that role, she led strategic planning and daily operations across five campuses, overseeing 12 parking garages and more than 40 parking lots that serve over 24,000 parking spaces.

“Louann brings extensive experience managing complex campus transportation systems and a strong commitment to service and partnership,” said Kevin Sowers, Associate Vice President of Business Affairs. “Her leadership and data-driven approach will help us continue improving mobility and access across the UF campus.”

At UCF, Huynh managed a $22 million annual budget and directed programs ranging from permit administration and parking enforcement to shuttle operations, fleet services and transportation demand management initiatives. She also led major operational and technology improvements designed to enhance the campus transportation experience.

Among her accomplishments, Huynh helped implement a virtual parking permit system that modernized visitor and event parking while reducing reliance on physical permits. She also directed a comprehensive shuttle system study and redesign that increased ridership by 50% while maintaining flat student transportation fees.

Huynh said she is excited to join the University of Florida and support the university’s mission.

“Parking and transportation are often the first touchpoints people experience when they arrive on campus,” Huynh said. “I look forward to working with the UF community to build on the strong foundation already in place and continue improving mobility, accessibility and service for students, faculty, staff and visitors.”

Huynh holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. She also holds a Parking, Transportation and Mobility Professional (PTMP) certification from the International Parking and Mobility Institute.

As Senior Director of TAPS, Huynh will oversee UF’s transportation and parking strategy, supporting safe, efficient and accessible mobility across campus.
